Marin Portable Restroom

One family, one yard on Andersen Drive in San Rafael, and a fleet that covers every town in Marin. We rent portable toilets, luxury units, restroom trailers, accessible units and hand washing stations, and we drive and service all of it ourselves instead of subcontracting the routes to somebody else.

How Long We Have Been Doing This

We have been delivering units across Marin since 2011. In that time the work has shifted with the county: fewer big subdivisions, far more remodels, ADUs, fire-hardening projects and multifamily repipe and balcony work, plus an event calendar that keeps growing every year. What has not changed is the thing that decides whether a rental goes well, which is whether the truck turns up on the day it said it would.

The Story Behind The Company

The company started because of a problem the founder kept running into as a site superintendent: the restrooms were always somebody’s afterthought. Ordered late, serviced when it suited the vendor, and quoted at a rate that turned out to exclude the collection. Building a company that treats the service schedule as the actual product, rather than as an overhead on renting out plastic, turned out to be a business, because contractors will pay a fair rate for a truck that shows up on a Tuesday every Tuesday.

The Crew

Our drivers hold commercial licenses and are trained on waste handling, and the ones who run event work carry food-handler certification for the sites that require it. They know which Fairfax lanes will not take a full-size truck, which Mill Valley driveways need the small one, and where in Sausalito you can park at seven in the morning and nowhere near it at eleven. That is not written down anywhere; it is why the same driver runs the same route.

The Equipment We Run

We own and maintain our own fleet rather than brokering somebody else’s, which is why we can tell you on a Tuesday what will be on your site on Thursday. That covers standard units for porta potty rental and construction site work, enclosed luxury and VIP cabins, two to ten-station restroom trailers, ADA-accessible units with ground-level entry, and cold and hot-water hand washing stations, along with the vacuum trucks that service all of it. Keeping the whole range of portable toilet, trailer and sink rentals on one yard is what stops a change of plan turning into a sourcing problem. Why We Like The Work

It is unglamorous and genuinely useful, which is a good combination. A crew that can stay on site all day, a bride who never once thinks about where the restrooms are, a ranch event that runs without anybody driving into town. Nobody writes about portable sanitation, and every outdoor thing that happens in this county depends on somebody doing it properly.
